Pest Control for Schools
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Schools
Pesticides need to be used carefully and judiciously, especially when used in sensitive areas where children are present. Children are more sensitive than adults to pesticides. Studies have indicated that young children can gain exposure to pesticides from crawling, eating off the floor, or other hand-to-mouth activities.
Children spend much of their day at school, so an integrated pest management program will provide a safer learning environment by to reducing the child’s exposure to both pesticides and disease-bearing pests.
As director of an educational institution, you are doubtless aware that the EPA is encouraging school officials to adopt IPM practices to reduce children's exposure to pesticides. Furthermore, the State of Illinois has mandated IPM programs in nursery schools.

Bedbugs in Schools
We are getting more and more calls from teachers who have brought bed bugs home from school. This problem tends to occur more in the winter months, when the child brings bed bugs to school from home. This vicious cycle of contamination requires a continuing program of inspection and treatment when required. Please talk to us about a surveillance program tailored to your needs.
